GUESS-WHy at the Joint Hydrogen Research Seminar 2026

On 4 June 2026, we participated in the Joint Hydrogen Research Seminar hosted by Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and SINTEF, bringing together researchers, industry representatives, and stakeholders working across the hydrogen value chain.

We presented GUESS-WHy’s approach to developing safe and sustainable hydrogen products and systems. Key methodologies were shared, including the Critical Risk Assessment (CRA) method and the Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) approach, highlighting how safety considerations are integrated throughout the project.

The seminar provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge with sister projects, including SH2IFT2 and H2SCORE, share experiences and methodologies, and discuss current and future challenges related to hydrogen deployment in society. In addition, the event concluded with an engaging roundtable discussion on the prospects and barriers of hydrogen implementation, fostering collaboration, strengthening connections, and encouraging dialogue across the hydrogen research community.
