GUESS-WHy made its way to Trondheim, Norway, for the European PhD Hydrogen Conference, held on 1–3 June 2026.
Represented by Jure Gramc from the University of Ljubljana and Sari Alfreijat from the University of Perugia, the project brought life cycle thinking into the spotlight — from sustainable-by-design PEM fuel cell stacks to cradle-to-cradle assessment of PEM electrolysers.
Their works highlighted how critical materials, end-of-life recovery, circularity, and smarter design choices can help shape hydrogen technologies that are not only clean in use, but also more sustainable across their full life cycle.
