The GUESS-WHy project was represented at the EHEC Conference (11–13 March), where Jure Gramc from the University of Ljubljana presented our latest work on the preliminary Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) of metal hydride hydrogen storage systems.
Within GUESS-WHy, this study focuses on evaluating the reference case of metal hydride storage to identify key sustainability hotspots across its life cycle. The results provide a crucial foundation for understanding environmental, economic, and social impacts in a holistic way.
Based on these findings, the project will further develop Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) strategies, leading to improved and innovative hydrogen storage concepts that prioritize safety and sustainability from the design stage.
