Advancing Safe and Sustainable Hydrogen Innovation: The GUESS-WHy Consortium Meets in Grenoble

From 8 to 10 June 2026, the GUESS-WHy consortium gathered in Grenoble, France, for its 4th General Assembly, hosted by CEA. Over three productive days, project partners reviewed the progress achieved so far and aligned upcoming activities. The meeting brought together representatives from all consortium partners, both in person and online, offering a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, align technical work, and prepare the next project milestones.

Discussions focused on the advancement of the project’s innovative hydrogen technology concepts, including PEM and alkaline electrolysers, metal hydride storage systems, hydrogen gas turbines, and SOFC systems, with continued emphasis on integrating safety and sustainability into the engineering design process.

A key highlight was the online Advisory Board meeting, where valuable feedback was gathered to support the further development of the project’s SSbD methodology and its application across the different technology cases. Also, partners also had the opportunity to visit CEA’s facilities and gain insight into their excellent work and expertise in hydrogen-related technologies.
